Standard Operating Guidelines (SOGs)

Fire Department Uniform Display

Purpose: To establish guidelines for personnel and acceptable display of FD uniforms.

Scope: This SOG sets forth, proper display of FD uniform. This guide includes all FD related uniforms (tee-shirts, shirts, coats, jackets, hats, caps & etc.).

Guidelines:

1. FD Uniforms are symbols and identification markers.

2. General public associates the Uniform and not the person wearing the Uniform.

3. FD Uniforms are worn with respect and pride.

4. Personnel wearing FD Uniforms are representatives of the FD.

5. In uniform at any time, personnel will be conscious to their actions and demeanor and surroundings.

6. Tattered and faded uniforms should not be worn and discarded.

7. FD Uniforms will not be worn as the main display while personnel are at their primary or secondary jobs. {this excludes the FD of course.}

8. No alcohol to be consumed while in uniform.
