Rookie Fire Personnel
4.01 PURPOSE
This SOP shall establish guidelines
for Rookie Fire Personnel and those requirements associated for the rookie fire
fighter.
4.02 POLICY
1. Successfully completed either
2. RFP shall have two (2) Active members of the
department in good standing, sponsor for active membership.
3. #2 can be completed at any regular Board of
Directors meeting.
4. Board of Directors will seek compliance from
the Fire Chief and Training Officer with each potential rookie candidate.
5. Board of Directors will either accept or
deny active membership to potential rookie candidate.
• # 1 through #5 must be satisfied by the
Department before proceeding to #6.
6. RFP Active Membership
• RFP shall be monitored for the next 6
months.
• Complete required training
• Attend regular department training
• Only Excused absences are accepted
• Notification to a department officer prior
to absence
• Non-notification of absence shall be
recorded as Unexcused
• Three (3) unexcused absences in succession
shall result in suspension pending investigation.
• Habitual unexcused absences will be handled
with as follows:
a) First incident- written warning
b) Second incident- written warning and fourteen
(14) day suspension
c) Third incident- written immediate suspension,
pending investigation
