First Responder Rescue Response

 

Purpose:     To establish guidelines for the First Responder Rescue Program. These guidelines cover RESPONSE procedures.

 

Scope:   This SOG establishes personnel staffing required for an effective response.

Since the First Responder program relates to emergency medical treatment and care, extreme caution and forethought shall be utilized. The First Responder

Program is an extension of Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

 

Guideline:

 

1.     Preferred response is with 2 certified technicians.

2.     Accepted response- 1 certified technician and 1 firefighter with CPR cert.

3.     Accepted response- 1 certified technician- after an approximate 6 minute delay in response (waiting for personnel) from tone out time to en-route time.

4.     No technicians- No response.

5.     No technicians- Firefighters Only- Notify EMS By radio advising that only support personnel are available.

6.     If EMS requires support - the preferred response is with B1.

7.     FD Officer may POV to incident when deemed necessary.

8.     All responders should have minimum of CPR certification.
